Last week I shot some photos at the latest installment of Jozi on Fire… It’s been a few months since I was involved and it was good to get back into shooting some live music. Julian Redpath was first up and I don’t think the crowd (mostly there for a party) appreciated the subtlety of the music. Julian has shades of Lucky Fonz III and definitely an acoustic show worth making a plan to see. The headliner for the night was The Stella’s… their live set is always full on energy and went down pretty well on the night..
I’ve worked with the guys from Gangs of Ballet a few times in the last year and it’s been an absolute privilege watching and shooting them, some of the coolest people I know and a super talented. Their debut full length record Yes/No/Grey was released last week and the guys are on the road pushing the release with a bunch of album launches around the country… Make sure to catch them if you can. These are a few of the photos I shot at the Johannesburg launch… www.gangsofballet.co.za for more information.
The second edition of Jozi on Fire was held last week Wednesday at Openroom Productions, organised by Tecla Ciolfi of Texx and the City fame, the first event was something really special to witness and so was the second. Lacey May and Planet Joy performed this time around… been mad busy so I’m just going to post the shots on Lacey May for the moment.
